CHINNOR produced a scintillating performance of expansive 15-man rugby to storm to a convincing win over Richmond.

The impressive home side came flying out of the blocks and had Richmond rattled from the start.

Three tries in the first 15 minutes was a real statement of intent, but Richmond regrouped to get a foothold in the match.

The cor nerstone of the perfor mance was a superb display up front, which put Chinnor on the front foot. This forward dominance was exploited expertly by a sublime perfor mance from George Worboys.

The young number ten, making his first home start, showed off his skills with a superb allround display. His running, kicking and passing were all top notch as he cruised to a personal tally of 22 points.

Chinnor opened the scoring with prolific Alun Walker finishing off a driving maul. This was immediately followed by a superb break from Worboys as he dotted down under the posts.

George Merrick then increased the lead and Chinnor were 21-0 up, with Worboys converting all three scores.

Richmond then launched their first attack and camped inside

Chinnor's 22. After a series of drives, Luc Jones cleverly dived through the ruck to get his side on the scoreboard. Ed Landray converted.

Chinnor immediately responded. After some impressive forward carries, Worboys claimed his second try, which he converted for a 28-7 lead.

Powerful centre Morgan Passman entered proceedings with a series of powerful busts and his try ensured the home side led 35-7 at half-time.

The visitors came out after half-time with intent and showed real attacking qualities.

Chinnor's defence was excellent, but Richmond scored two tries through Alex Post and one through Thomas Hitchcock to take a try bonus point from a thrilling second half.

Further Chinnor tries came from Walker, Passman, Nick Smith and Josh Gillespie, with Smith taking his side past the half-century mark using his wonderful running skills to beat several defenders before touching down out wide.

Chinnor director of rugby Nick Easter said:

“It was an excellent performance, full of ambition and extremely accurate. I was pleased with our quality in the first half and, very importantly, the defensive effort and commitment in the second. On the back of a superb forward show, George Merrick was immense and George Worboys played an excellent hand.”
