Bath chasing England U18 flyer Offiah

ON THE BLIND SIDE

Signing on: Max Ojomoh is close to agreeing a new deal with Inset, Tyler Offiah

BATH are among the clubs interested in signing Tyler Offiah, the son of former cross-code legend Martin. The 17-yearold 6ft 2in winger, who was formerly in the academy, has been playing for the London & South Central Academy and Wellington College.

He came through the ranks of St Benedict's School and has also been a member of the U18 Men's October development camp squad this season. Offiah appeared on the talkSPORT radio show White and Jordan last week to talk about racism and revealed that his son will be turning professional next season, and we understand Bath are interested in signing him. “He will be a professional rugby player next year.

He is taller than me and faster than me. He wants to be a rugby player, so I needed to send him to the right environment. “He has just made it into the England U18 squad and has got interest from four professional clubs,” he said. Bath are near to reaching an agreement with Max Ojomoh to sign a new long-term contract to remain with the early-season Premiership pacesetters.

Inside centre Ojomoh, 23, the son of Bath and England back rower Steve, has played seven games for his hometown club this season and has made 51 appearances since his debut four years ago. The former midfielder, who was educated at King Edward's School, Bath, has also played at outside centre, fly-half and winger for the club he joined as a 14-year-old.
