A virtuoso performance from Sophie de Goede saw Canada power to a win over Wales in their WXV 1 opener in Wellington.
No.8 and skipper De Goede scored one try, set up another and kicked all six conversions for the Canadians, who pulled clear in the second half.
It followed a pair of warm-up defeats to England, with the Canadian captain impressed at how her team responded to those losses.
