TIME-KEEPING has not been a strong point of teams in this tournament with most of them guilty of tardiness. Wales were over an hour late for their team announcement ahead of yesterday's game against Argentina which was held at a basketball arena in Toulon on Thursday. A World Rugby representative who was present said there were no penalties for being late as the frustrated media, most of whom had got the train from Marseille, twiddled their thumbs. At least Warren Gatland did deliver when he finally turned up, telling the top four ranked teams, in Paris, to stop whining about the draw.
■ The train from Lyon to Marseille last Sunday was enlivened by the conductor who gave a rundown of food specialities at all the stops. As the last three were Avignon, Aix-en-Provence and Marseille, bouillabaisse, a fish stew, tapenade, an olive spread, and daube, a beef casserole with red wine, all got a mention.
