Whitelock glad to keep it in the family

THERE have been some towering rugby dynasties down the decades but perhaps none compared to the one founded by a farmer from Canterbury, Nelson Dalzell. The family tradition which he initiated 70 years ago is still going strong, still rearranging the record book and updating history.
A late developer, Dalzell made his Test debut at the ripe old age of 32 during the All Blacks’ European tour of 1953-54. He played in all five Tests including the one at Cardiff Arms Park when Wales last beat New Zealand.
