The early rounds of the new Premiership Cup has shown the RFU-endorsed ring-fencing of English rugby’s top league to be an utter sham.
The results over the first two weekends of the combined Premiership-Championship competition highlight the depth of the subterfuge, with Coventry leading the way for the Championship clubs with a 28-14 home victory over Premiership title holders Saracens, followed by a 21-21 draw away at Harlequins.
