Julian Montoya, who leads Leicester in today’s Premiership playoff semi-final at Sale, is proud the team stuck together during the tough times to keep their champions’ title challenge after a mid-season dip.
Leicester were outside the top four when Richard Wigglesworth took over as interim head coach in December following Steve Borthwick’s move to England and after a Christmas Eve victory over Gloucester, lost their next three matches and third in the table.
