Wharfedale bossed Blaydon in tricky conditions but were denied a bonus-point try by the visitors’ dogged defence.
The game was not a feast of open rugby and the stop-start affair was dominated by mistakes from both sides.
The home side had a massive territorial advantage throughout the game, with Blaydon only mounting one meaningful attack into Dale’s 22 and kicking a penalty as reward.
