Spence’s double joy for Tynedale

An out-of-sorts Tynedale did just enough to edge past Preston at a rainy Corbridge.
Seldom out of their own 22 in the second half, Tynedale almost threw it away in the closing minutes when a succession of wild passes on their own line gave Preston the scent of victory, but referee Ben Rayner awarded a contentious penalty against them.
Tynedale started well, with a solid driving maul enabling scrumhalf James Telford to send Seamus Hutton in for the opening try.
