Cardiff held on by the skin of their teeth to rob Llandovery of their 100 per cent record and keep their unbeaten run going.
The hosts tried to impose their maul upon the visitors in a scrappy start to the game, but the Drovers weathered the early storm and hit back with a try from Rhodri Wall.
