Barton leads way as Exeter secure first win

STAR man Josh Barton scored 13 points as play-off champions Exeter ended their long wait for a first win of the season, edging a tight encounter against Cardiff Met at Cyncoed.
In a drab first period played in poor conditions, only a Barton penalty separated the sides, but Exeter’s errors diminshed and they got a much better grip on the Met forward pack in the second half.
