WRU’s £30m funding deal expected to face stiff opposition

The Welsh Rugby Union are set to table a six-year multi-million pound deal for the professional game which involves saddling the regions with further debt and demanding the return of benefactors.
Wales’ four professional sides – Cardiff, Dragons, Ospreys and Scarlets – have been struggling for the best part of a decade with the WRU refusing to invest in its professional game in the same fashion as other governing bodies.
