Diminishing value of tightheads is telling

FLY-HALVES have long been the ‘stars’ of the team so it’s not surprising they are top earners in the Premiership – but I remember it was not so long ago that tighthead props were earning the big bucks.
The fact they are now not even in the top three best-paid positions shows the changing nature of the game and how the depowering of the scrum has reduced their worth.
