Sharks get pay-out for Springbok stars

SALE pocketed significant six-figure fees for Springbok World Cup-winning stars Faf De Klerk and Lood de Jager, departing for Japan this summer.
The Sharks claimed they couldn’t keep hold of both players after the salary cap was lowered because of the impact of the pandemic. But Blindside understands De Klerk, heading to the Canon Eagles on a million pound a year contract, fell outside of the cap as a marquee player.
Another player heading out of the door at the AJ Bell Stadium is Rohan Janse Van Rensburg, who is joining URC outfit the Sharks.
