A FEW weeks ago Shane Williams of this parish was railing against those sneaky goalkickers and those going for touch blatantly nicking three or four yards after the referee has made the mark. An accidental on purpose cheat that is as old as the hills but nonetheless insiduously undermines the referee’s authority every time it happens.
But having, rightly, climbed into the players it’s also right to defend them against over-zealous refs.
