5-try Waratahs hand Drua first night thrashing

Relief: Jake Gordon helped the Waratahs start the year strongly, after a dismal 2021 campaign

FIJIAN Drua were given a rude welcome on their Super Rugby debut by the Waratahs, who ended a 538-day wait between wins to go top after Round 1.
They dominated the newcomers up front to run out fve-try 40-10 winners, with fly-half Ben Donaldson kicking 15 points.
Led by Wallabies Angus Bell and Jake Gordon, the Waratahs raced out to a 40-3 lead with tries from Will Harris, Dave Porecki, Lalakai Foketi, Bell, and Gordon.
