■ Cornish Pirates will be wearing special one-off shirts to mark this month’s 40th anniversary of the Penlee Lifeboat Disaster, in which eight RNLI crew volunteers on the Solomon Browne were tragically lost.
The crew, who perished in terrible conditions along with eight more people they were attempting to rescue, included former Pirates player John Blewett.
