Otley show heart to remain unbeaten

IN THE top-of-the-table clash, extend their lead coming from behind to beat second-place Billingham at Greenwood Road and remain the only unbeaten side.

In the opening half, Billingham went in at half-time 11-10 ahead through a try from Alfie Lawson to add to two early penalties from Peter Evans. David Preston-Routlege crossed for Otley, converted by Joe Rowntree, who also slotted a penalty. In the second period, Otley took control and through further tries from Ben Waddington and Mike Law plus a second penalty from Rowntree ran out winners 16-23. With other results in the top echelon not going their way, Billingham now slip back to fourth.

move up to second beating Sandal 12-58.

Sam Scott, Ben Pearson, Chris Taylor, Tyler Spence, Ollie Trippier and Matt Lamprey with three were the scorers all converted by Pearson.

Blackburn slide into third after being 68-5 victors at home to Northwich. Leon Simpson with a hat-trick, Tom Birtenshaw and Myles Harrop both with two, Jack Granby and Josh Jarrold were the try scorers, with Jarrold also landing nine conversions. Josh Warburton with a consolation try.

Alnwick beat Kirkby Lonsdale 3-48 after tries from Jamie Oliver, Calum Byrne, Sam Eggleston, George Fox and Hugh Todd's brace, all converted by Evan Moyer who also kicked over two penalties.

Lymm were 40-0 winners at home to Burnage. Cormack Nolan, Harry Martin, Rob Makin (two), Gregor Watson and Adam Bray, making his 250 appearance for the club, were the try scorers with Nolan also adding two conversions and two penalties.

Rossendale got the better of Wirral 24-19 at Marl Pits through tries from Brad Cave, Lewis Allen and Curtis Strong all converted by Liam McGovern, who also slotted a penalty.

In a closely-fought tie, Macclesfield took the spoils 22-21 over York.

Sam Moss, Josh Redfern and Aaron Williams crossed, with Will Davies successful with two conversions and a penalty.
