FC ……..34 Bears ..20

TWO Liz Crake tries helped Wasps continue their unbeaten start to the new year in a 34-20 victory over .

Crake's opener was cancelled out by Sarah Bern at Twyford Avenue, before the hosts eventually took control of the first half to go into the break 22-15 ahead.

Wasps ran in two more tries in the second period, including another for Crake, as they eventually saw the game out to claim the win.

Crake got the ball rolling for Craig Foster's side early on, as she used her power and strength to cross from short range after four minutes.

Bears replied through an Amber Reed penalty, before Bern crashed over to put the visitors 10-7 ahead.

The end-to-end action continued with Hannah Edwards' break teeing up Harriet Millar- Mills to dot down, before Bristol contributed to their own downfall as Wasps extended their lead.

Edwards' downfield kick was fumbled, and Abby Dow took advantage of the gift to make it 19-10.

A frantic opening 20 minutes was then completed with Lucy Attwood going over after Bears made the most of an overlap.

The second-half saw a tighter affair, with MacDonald and Crake going over to effectively put the game to bed, before Abbie Parsons scored a late consolation.
