PONTYPOOL completed their second consecutive unbeaten calendar year in the Championship with a thumping eight-try 54-3 win at neighbours Cross Keys.
Kieran Meek opened the scoring with a penalty before Pat Lewis’ try. Meek and Keys kicker Kieran Hill then traded penalties before Amosa Nove went over in the corner following Meek’s grubber kick.
And it was not long before Nove was over again, intercepting a pass in his own half to sprint 60 metres to score. Meek converted for a 23-3 half-time lead.
