Diamond anger over ref’s late penalty call

NOT for the first time this season, Sale supremo Steve Diamond was left fuming at officialdom after a controversial late penalty decision cost his side the game.
With a tourniquet-tight contest balanced 14-13 in favour of the Sharks, referee Craig Maxwell-Keys adjudged that Tom Curry’s midfield challenge on Tom Dunn had not involved his arms, enabling Rhys Priestland to calmly hammer home a match-winning 45m kick.
