Remarkable Doddie to be honoured at BBC awards

DODDIE Weir OBE is to be honoured with the Helen Rollason award at tonight’s BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards.
In 2016, former Scotland and Lions lock Weir was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease (MND). He set up the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation which has committed more than four million pounds for research into MND. The Foundation has also given almost £1million to families living with the disease.
Earlier this year he received an OBE for services to rugby, MND research and the Borders community.
