Willis strikes late to steal victory for Ealing

FLY-HALF Craig Willis stroked home a 78th minute penalty to snatch the win for Ealing but director of rugby Ben Ward was not happy with his side’s performance.
Ealing’s strong selection reflected the importance that the holders place on the Championship Cup and they started well with No.8 Kierna Murphy scoring after just two minutes.
But the hosts showed their mettle to score two of their own before a yellow card to wing Peter Lydon late in the second half allowed Ampthill to open up a 22-14 lead. But late indiscipline let Ealing back in and Willis sneaked the win.
