Gatland goes still thinking: What might have been?

STEVE Hansen had the last word over Warren Gatland as New Zealand claimed the bronze medal and two of the finest coaches of the modern era went into international retirement.
Hansen has had a hand in two World Cup wins so this would have been little consolation after last weekend’s crushing semi-final defeat to England, and it was also a bitter-sweet farewell to the Test arena for his captain Kieran Read.
Gatland signed off his Welsh reign with another semi-final appearance but was left with a feeling of what have been.
