It’s time to rethink this hoo-ha around the haka

Iget all the stuff about the haka being great sporting theatre, especially when New Zealand face a team capable of beating them, as England did in last weekend’s World Cup semi-final.
But what I cannot stand is how precious the All Blacks and their acolytes behind the scenes at World Rugby are about it.
I have never bought into the claptrap about how it is a spiritual “happening” in which you are kindly asked to prepare yourself for the “challenge” coming your way before you have a cup of tea together.
