In a local newspaper poll conducted last year, wing-cum-centre Simon Morris was voted by fans as the best former Gloucester player never to play for England. He made 104 appearances for the Cherry & Whites between 1990 and 1997 before, aged 25, injury ended his career. Happily, Morris’ rugby genes ran deep and his 19-year-old son, Jake, is now proudly carrying the family baton as he forges what he hopes will be a long and fulfilling career.
