St Ives decide to opt out
THE scourge of long-distance travelling which plunged St Ives into crisis has now forced the Hakes out of league rugby.
The club, whose problems were highlighted in TRP two weeks ago, have now withdrawn from South West Division One West.
A summer player exodus, plus the departure of coaches Rob Elloway, Chris Fuca and Joe Parma, saw St Ives, promoted twice in the previous three years, struggling to raise a team for the opening match which they lost 89-14 before having to postpone their next two fixtures due to injuries and lack of players.
