SALE Sharks new signing Simon Hammersley says the time was right for him to move on from Newcastle in a bid to fulfil his ambitions in the game.
The 26-year-old from Hull pulled on a Sharks jersey for the first time in yesterday’s Premiership Cup clash against Northampton having moved to Manchester in the summer.
Hammersley joined Sale after exercising the relegation release clause in his contract at the Falcons, his one and only previous club, and admits it wasn’t an easy decision.
