Parachute money drives the yo-yo

COLIN Boag was at it again defending ring fencing the Premiership and parachute payments for relegated teams.
Of course the club that go down are likely to go straight up when they are financially better off than the other clubs in the league due to the parachute payments, while non P Share holders get very little help if they go up.
Let’s not forget also that most Premiership clubs are millions of pounds in debt. Bristol, London Irish and Wasps play at football grounds, Sale at a Rugby League ground and Saracens moved into a ready-made stadium that belonged to a football club.
