Steelmen edge Quins thanks to late Jones kick

RHYS Jones held his nerve to bang over a penalty five minutes from time to give Ebbw Vale victory.
So often a matchwinner for the Steelmen, the ex- Dragons outside half was once again instrumental in guiding his side into the second round with a penalty in each half and conversion of Lewis Young’s first-half try.
Quins went into the break 17-13 down, but then restricted the visitors to a single Jones strike in the second half after working their way into a 19-17 lead.
