League leaders survive fightback to stay top at Christmas

DALE McIntosh put family loyalty to one side as Merthyr survived a real scare from Bedwas to record a bonus-point win at Bridge Field and stay top at Christmas.
Ironmen head coach McIntosh was up against his son Dion who started at fly-half for the hosts, but it was the senior man who came out on top as Merthyr scored four tries to render a late Bedwas double from Mike Dacey irrelevant.
The Ironmen only led 12- 6 at the break, but a yellow card for Bedwas scrumhalf Tom Rowlands after the break proved crucial.
