Jarvis heroics show reigning champs joy of six

TWO late penalties from Matthew Jarvis earned reigning champions Merthyr a sixth win in a row to send them six points clear at the top of the table.
Three points separated the two teams coming into the game but it was Ponty who were first on the board thanks to a sixth-minute penalty from the ten-metre line by Lewis K Williams.
It was a bright start for the visitors, who were playing into the teeth of a strong wind, but it was the Ironmen who then took a firm hold via their strong scrum and excellent driving maul.
