Lift off: Joe Tarrant in a strongman competition

BOURNEMOUTH have signed Richmond strongman Joe Tarrant to their squad.
Tighthead Tarrant has spent the last two seasons at Championship side Richmond in the second tier. He was part of the Lions’ squad that last won promotion to National Division Two, and wants to help them rise back there from the South West Premier.
The 19-stone Tarrant took a break from rugby for three years in which he competed in strongman contests, winning several. Tarrant, 27, will also help coach the Bournemouth scrum and says his strongman background stands ...
