All Black Dagg off to Japan on short contract

ISRAEL Dagg has signed a deal to play in Japan for the Canon Eagles, putting his New Zealand place in jeopardy.
All Blacks and Crusaders full-back Dagg, who has played 66 Tests, confirmed he will represent the Eagles under former Springboks coach Allister Coetzee when he has completed his duties for the Crusaders in Super Rugby. Dagg’s decision to play in another country, rather than represent Hawke’s Bay in the Mitre 10 Cup, has effectively put an end to his chances of returning to the All Blacks for the Rugby Championship.
