Off the pitch it’s also been a special time. Where else could you go to a club that during the season takes the squad to places like the Munich Beer Festival, Miami, and on a ski trip?
During my time at Saracens a lot of players were having kids, and their wives were struggling. So we took it to Ed Griffiths (the CEO) and they started a creche, at minimum cost. It was a great success. If as a player you get the sense that the club are looking after your family and kids it makes a huge difference.
