Meredith try keeps Lucs’ hopes burning

LUCTONIANS kept alive their fight to avoid relegation by earning a tight victory over a Macclesfield side that had dominated the early stages.
Lucs rarely touched the ball in the opening encounters and Macc deservedly opened the scoring after 24 minutes when James Hampson was fortunate to see his own pass rebounded off a Lucs player back into his own hands and he raced clear to score.
Luc’s ground their way back into the match and were twice unlucky not to level the scores, but they dropped passes with the touchline at their mercy.
