A BATTLING Sale side left Wharfedale with the four points after edging an attritional encounter.
Dale dominated possession and territory and were in the game until a breakaway undid them.
Sale won the game with superb tactics and a wellorganised defence that was allowed to disrupt Wharfedale.
Sale took the lead with a try from Jack Moorhouse, which was converted by Chris Johnson. They held it until half-time and extended it with a penalty kick from Johnson at the start of the second half.
Dale pressure eventually led to a drop goal from Tom Barrett.
