I’VE been one of Colin Boag’s ‘Old Timers’ who bang on about the way it was – but you’ve missed the point about
TMOs, Colin. TMOs take up a ridiculous amount of time and it also affect the authority of the referee. When I played, the referee would signal a try or not. We didn’t discuss it. The referee was the boss and you accepted it. This meant the tempo of the game was maintained.
