BENJAMIN Palmer’s late penalty kick was enough for Leicester Lions to seal a close-fought victory against mid-table rivals Sheffield Tigers.
Tigers were overawed early on by Lions’ pressure in the forwards, which consigned them to a fourth narrow defeat in a row.
Lions took an early lead, Will Roberts finishing from Alex Smit’s quick-thinking at the scrum on 10 minutes. Tigers attacked for the next 10 minutes, but handling errors allowed the home side to defend comfortably.
