GERAINT O’Driscoll stepped in to fill the Newport No.10 jersey and guided the Black & Ambers to the Tier 2 title.
With Matt O’Brien unavailable, Newport coach Craig Warlow pinned his faith on O’Driscoll, who came up trumps with 17 points to take the wind out of the sails of a resurgent Neath side.
