SCORING a ten-minute hat-trick for Nottingham has clearly done wonders for Antonio ‘TJ' Harris' profile as the Nottingham hooker has earned himself a move to Premiership high flyers Wasps.
Harris entered Nottingham folklore over the festive period when he came off the bench in the 68th-minute and promptly dotted down three times as the Green and Whites threatened to pull off an improbable comeback against Yorkshire Carnegie.
While Nottingham ultimately lost the game 24-17, having once trailed by three scores, Harris' headline-grabbing antics clearly made Wasps sit up and take notice.
Harris, a promising boxer in his youth, took up rugby while at Woodlands Academy in Coventry, which counts Neil Back, Danny Grewcock and Tom Wood among former pupils.
The 22-year-old joined Nottingham from Bedford Blues, where he had played for 18 months. Before that, he played in New Zealand for North Otago and was part of the Worcester academy setup.
■ WORCESTER have signed Jersey's highly-rated South African tight-head prop Simon Kerrod.
Johannesburg-born Kerrod joined the Championship side midway through last season and has been a regular starter in his time on the Channel Islands.
Before his arrival at the Reds, the 24-year-old played for Eastern Province Kings in the Vodacom Cup and was part of the Sharks age grade setup.
■ EXETER boss Rob Baxter is weighing up a move for Jersey Reds backrow forward James Freeman. The 26-year-old former Lough borough Students captain, is in his second season at the Championship club.
Freeman would become the third Jersey forward to join Exeter in recent years, following hooker Elvis Taione and tight-head Harry Williams.
