Dream Team: Demetri Catrakilis – future Harlequins fly-half

1. Steven Kitshoff – His all-round skills give him the nod at loosehead. Whether scrummaging, carrying, tackling he can do it all very well.
2. Bismark du Plessis – He only came to last season but what an unbelievable player. He's great over the ball and carries like a back rower. A powerhouse!
3. Vincent Koch – We used to call him and Steven “Fire and Ice” back at the . He was Ice and he's doing great at now. My team would be untouchable at the scrum with that front row.
4. Eben Etzebeth – Very strong but also very fit to get around the park really well and throw his huge frame into the rucks. He can be a very good lineout option too.
5. Manuel Carrizza – The lineout specialist any team needs. We wouldn't lose too many balls at the lineout with him at lock!
6. Michael Rhodes – One of the most underrated players out there. I really expected him to at least make the squad when he was at the Stormers. Saracens got themselves a great player.
7. Schalk Burger – Possibly the best rugby player I've  played with. He's so good ball in hand he's like an extra back to have in the pack. He can protect you well with his defence which, as a fly-half, is always nice!
8. Duane Vermeulen – He's really strong and a big hitter from the back of the scrum. You can't go wrong with him and Bismark as your ball carriers.
9. Nic Groom – I know the scrum-half inside out and he's not a selfish player at all. He always makes other players look good and that's why he doesn't get the recognition he deserves sometimes.
10. Dan Carter – Probably the best ever rugby player who controls the game brilliantly, kicks well and can tackle.
11. Nemani Nadolo – People say a good player can always beat the first tackler but he seems to be the second, third and fourth. You're almost guaranteed a try a game with him in your team.
12. Francois Steyn – He can slot in anywhere in the back line which is always nice to have and not to mention his match-winning long-range boot.
13. Damien de Allende – He hasn't reached his peak but he's a great passer of the ball with a canny ability to beat any player. He can put some big hits in in defence like a flanker too.
14. Joe Tomane – Bryan Habana deserves a shout but Joe is a very good ball player and is often roaming around looking for work. Unbelievable under high ball.
15. Gio Aplon – He's half the weight of Nemani but he's more than able to beat as many defenders, albeit by going around them rather than through them. Devastating feet and speed!
