Can’t bend rules just to suit Exeter

WHY, for one minute, is it a good idea to change the rules of a tournament halfway through? Reading Nick Cain’s view on Exeter’s Champions Cup plight, the cynic inside me suggests Nick wants the change purely to help the Chiefs.
It could be argued Exeter have already benefited hugely from PRL changing the rules last season so that Saracens were relegated, or PRL making up rules and penalising Sale, stopping them competing in last year’s Premiership semi-final.
Now Nick wants EPRC to change their rules so Exeter don’t lose five points. Sorry, but sometime...
