Currently it is neither properly European nor is it a collection of champions. An English club only has to finish eighth out of ten in the Premiership to qualify.

Nor is it really a Cup, it’s a micromanaged seeded hybrid League with no luck of the draw involved, almost zero chance of a shock result.
