ON THE BLINDSIDE
JULIAN Salvi is making a quick return to rugby after becoming Paul Gustard's replacement at Italian United Rugby Championship side Benetton Treviso.
Salvi, who left Exeter at the end of April after a poor season from the former champions, has got the Treviso gig after Stade Francais made a move for former Harlequins boss Gustard.
Gustard, who moved to Italy last summer, has signed a two-year deal to move to Paris this summer, but the deal was held up while Benetton lined up a replacement.
Former flanker Salvi, left, helped the Chiefs win their first Premiership title in 2017 before retiring and moving onto the coaching staff a year later.
He was one of three people interviewed by Benetton, who quickly decided that the Australian was the right man for the job which allowed former England defence coach Gustard, 48, to take up the offer from Stade.
