JULIAN Salvi is making a quick return to rugby after becoming Paul Gustard's replacement at Italian United Rugby side .

Salvi, who left at the end of April after a poor season from the former champions, has got the Treviso gig after made a move for former boss Gustard.

Gustard, who moved to last summer, has signed a two-year deal to move to this summer, but the deal was held up while Benetton lined up a replacement.

Former flanker Salvi, left, helped the Chiefs win their first title in 2017 before retiring and moving onto the coaching staff a year later.

He was one of three people interviewed by Benetton, who quickly decided that the Australian was the right man for the job which allowed former defence coach Gustard, 48, to take up the offer from Stade.
