THIS was make or break – and England broke. They did so on the back of their own indiscipline, conceding another 14 penalties, and Wales had the wit to punish them, going on to claim an emphatic four tries to two victory, and with it a Triple Crown.
While the Welsh transformation from zeros to heroes under Wayne Pivac was sinking in, so was the realisation that this England team has the serial weakness of being unable to learn from its mistakes, with neither head coach Eddie Jones nor captain Owen Farrell able to stop the rot in terms of giving away soft penalties.
