BRANDON Thomson's last-gasp conversion hit the post as the recorded their third PRO14 triumph of the season after an enthralling Conference A clash.

When replacement hooker Johnny Matthews went over for a try two minutes into injury time it looked as if the hosts were going to emerge victorious at Scotstoun, but fellow substitute Thomson missed the relatively simple conversion to let the Welsh side off 23-22.

The Dragons got off to the ideal start on the road in the rearranged match when winger Jared Rosser scored a cracking try after five minutes from 50 metres. Stand-off Sam Davies converted.

Glasgow reacted well and after a good break into the Dragons 22 led by hooker Grant Stewart, Dragons back row Harrison Keddie was yellow carded for killing the ball.

With centre Jamie Roberts added to the Dragons scrum it looked like Glasgow might draw level with space out wide, but after a couple of phases the Welsh side's defence won a penalty metres from their own line.

They managed the next few minutes well and by the time Keddie came back on they were still seven points to the good.

Against 14-men again, the Warriors marched on and in the 31st minute it was 10-7 after a try by backrow Fotu Lokotui converted by stand-off Pete Horne.

And five minutes before half-time they were up for the first time, centre Nick Grigg setting up scrumhalf Sean Kennedy to go over for try number two. Horne converted and the second sin-binning was proving costly for the Dragons who were 14-10 down.

Dean Ryan's side managed to regroup at the interval and four minutes into the second period they were back ahead. Loosehead Brok Harris bagged their second try with Davies converting to make it 17-14, but the lead did not last long – a Horne penalty drawing the Warriors level.

In this end-to-end clash the Dragons were next to score, a Davies penalty putting them 20-17 to the good. Davies then stretched the lead to six points with a drop-goal.

Things got better for the Dragons when Warriors wing Lee Jones was yellow carded for a deliberate knock-on on 65 minutes before the late, late drama.
