are in advanced talks with Falcons and fly-half Will Haydon-Wood as looks to replace -bound Joe Simmonds next season.

Former U20 international Haydon-Wood, who spent two seasons with the Falcons, played four games for Wasps before moving to Pro D2 outfit Massy Essonne in December.

The 22-year-old will be a direct replacement for Simmonds, whose move to hasn't yet been confirmed but is happening, and Baxter is stepping up his recruitment.

He told a fans forum that he wants to strengthen his squad by recruiting a top quality winger to replace Jack Nowell, who joins this summer, and a centre.

A winger that could be interesting Baxter is Wallaby international Jordan Petaia, the Queensland Reds ace, 23. His CV is doing the rounds of clubs in England and France, where he is interesting .
