ON THE BLIND SIDE
BATH chairman Ed Griffiths has moved to keep England stars Anthony Watson and Jonathan Joseph at The Rec for another season at least.
The former Saracens boss took over as chairman of the Premiership's basement dwellers on New Year's Day and has made keeping the pair a priority. Watson was happy to let his contract run down to the end of the season and had been linked with a return to his former club London Irish.
But B lindside has been told that Bath have now activateda clause that will see Watson, 27, stay with the club for another season at least.
Former Lions tourist Joseph, below, had been attracting interest from Sale Sharks, but we have been told that Griffiths has offered him a new one-year deal.
A move to Sale was dependant on the future of Rohan Janse van Rensburg who has a get-out clause and has been weighing up a potential return to South Africa.
Meanwhile, new Bath head coach Johann van Graan could launch a raid on his current employer, Munster, as he looks to strengthen his coaching staff in the West Country.
Van Graan has got Munster's defence coach JP Ferreira on his list of people he wants to bring with him.
Ferreira has a contract with Munster until June .
