ON THE BLIND SIDE
BRISTOL could switch their attention to Ellis Genge if they can't tempt England and Lions loosehead Mako Vunipola back to the West Country.
Vunipola is out of contract at the end of the season and has been attracting interest from France, with Pat Lam keen on strengthening his front row options.
Bristol-born Genge, who this week tested positive for Covid ahead of England's match with Australia, is also in the final year of his deal with the Tigers.
The 26-year-old started his career with the Bears spending three years with the club before moving to the Tigers in 2016.
The aggressive ball carrier grew up on the Knowle West council estate and credited rugby with saving him from drugs and prison.
The Tigers are keen to sit down for talks with Genge when he returns from international duty to discuss a new deal to keep him in Leicester.
